I am not sure when they added Internet Tethering. For sure it is hidden deep in the general settings > network area.

Thanks Peter, WOW, despite being a beta tester for the OS 3.0 software since it's release earlier in the year, I missed the fact it had internet tethering. That's pretty cool.

The install problem I had was that this OS doesn't seem to like being reinstalled with the same version. Don't try this voluntarily, I actually bricked my iPhone a couple of times until I worked away around the problem.
